Advanced Crochet
Instructor: Marie Colitti
Thursdays - Jan 19 - Feb 9
Time: 7 pm - 8 pm
4 - 1 hour sessions
Okay- basic stitches mastered? Check! Holding the crochet hook mastered? Check! Now, what can you do? Take this class! Learn how to read charts to make afghans, garments or even design your own pattern. The class will focus on more advanced crochet stitches (tc anyone?), combining basic stitches to create a pattern (popcorn isn’t just a food!) and combining all of these with the basic stitches into a pattern of your choosing. Students should be able to read a published pattern by the end of the sessions. If you have a project you’ve been itching to finish, a pattern you’ve been itching to try or any other ideas, bring them along with you! Choose your favorite Alpaca yarn and hook from our shop at your first class....please come a few minutes early to make this purchase. If you have any UFO's (UnFinished Objects) occupying the corners of your living room, bring them along too.

Beginner Crochet

Time: 10 am -12 pm 4 - 2 hour sessions
This class will cover the basic crochet stitches, pattern reading as well as tips and techniques. Each student will complete a scarf made of Alpaca yarn.

Beginner Crochet

Beginning Knitting

Saturdays - Oct 1 - Oct 22
Time: 10 am - 12 pm 4 - 2 hour sessions
With knit-wear on all the runways this year, knitting is not just for your grandma anymore. At the end of this class you will have knit your own hat while learning all you need to know to create your own knitted garments. Lecture topics include: fiber properties,s knit and purl stitch, casting on, decreasing, binding-off and seaming, plus much more. The class materials fee includes 1 skein of alpaca yarn and a set of knitting needles.

Drop Spindle Workshop
Instructor: Heather Ablondi
Saturday - February 11
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon 1 - 2 hour session
Learn how to make your own unique one-of-a-kind yarn by hand with a drop spindle. The workshop will cover the properties of different fibers, spinning singles, making a plied yarn and setting your yarn in preparation for knitting or crocheting.

Entrelac Knitting

Create the woven look into a scarf with this patchwork-like technique. Prerequisites: Know how to Knit and Purl.

Fiber Dyeing
Instructor: Heather Ablondi
Saturday - February 11
Time: 1pm to 3pm 1 - 2 hour session
Have you ever wondered how to create those amazing hand dyed yarn that you see at high end yarn shops? Have a particular color in mind and can't find it anywhere? In this one day workshop, you will learn the basics of dyeing wool and other protein based yarns while you create your own one-of-a-kind hand dyed yarn skein.

Intermediate Crochet
Instructor: Donna LongoMondays - March 5 - March 26
Time: 10am to 12 noon 4 - 2 hour sessions
Intermediate Crochet class: This class will build upon the skills learned during the beginner crochet class. Using 2 skeins Alpaca yarn, each student will leave the class with a finished adult size hat.

Kids Knit
Instructor: Anna Beal
Saturday - Every other Saturday beginning January 21 - April 28
Time: 10am to 11am 8 - 1 hour sessions
Make your own knitting needles and learn the basics of knitting, including cast on, the knit stitch and bind off. Students will soon be knitting small items like beanbags and scarves. Ages 8 and up.

Knit Your First Garment

Time: 12 noon to 2pm 4 - 2 hour sessions
Have you been too scared to make a garment? Now is the time to jump right in with some help with, pattern reading, shaping, sizing and yarn choice. I will offer a few patterns for you to choose from. Prerequisites: Knit, Purl, Cast on, Cast off, increase, decrease Material fees vary.

Learn to Crochet

Crochet is not just your grandmother’s craft, Crochet is a flexible technique used to create anything from clothing and ornaments to retro purses, potholders and afghans. It is an easy technique to learn and is fun to boot! The class will focus on basic skills such as holding a crochet hook, yarn and hook selection, crochet stitches, and reading patterns. By learning the basic stitches of chain, single crochet and double crochet, students will learn the techniques to complete a scarf during the class duration. If you have a project you’ve been itching to finish, a pattern you’ve been itching to try or any other ideas, bring them along with you!

Nuno Felting

Time: 10am - 12 noon 1 - 2 hour session
Make a unique piece of wearable art with the fun and easy process of Nuno felting. Nuno felting involves embedding animal fibers, such as alpaca or wool into a light-weight piece of fabric, such as silk. You will be using hand dyed fiber and silk chiffon to create a scarf. The materials fee includes felting fiber and a silk chiffon scarf.

Nuno Felting
